Saint Martin de Porres Academy is graduating 17 students into college this spring. Help celebrate their achievement and wish them well by donating to Off to College Gift Baskets. Gift request tags will be on Lucia's Giving Tree through June 8th. Please remove a gift tag and leave your donated item under the tree. If it is more convenient for you to order online and have your gift directly delivered (Saint Martin de Porres Academy, 208 Columbus Ave., New Haven, CT 06519), please remove the gift tag so there will be no duplicates sent. Thank you for your continued support and generosity! Karen Miller
Honoring our Graduates: This June 1st, we will honor those in our church family who are celebrating graduation from high school, college, post-graduate, and any other program. As is our tradition, we love to include anyone you are proud of--family members, friends, and other special people, whether or not they are current participants in our Christian Education ministry. If you have a graduate in your life to honor, please email Jackie (office@northmadisoncc.org) by May 28 with their name and the school/program/degree they are completing.
Gift of Love for Our Graduates. We have a tradition of honoring our high school seniors with a small monetary gift from our congregation to bless them on their way beyond high school. We welcome donations to fund this gift. Our “Gift of Love” will be presented to grads during worship as part of Church School Celebration Sunday, June 1. Any unused monies will roll into our fund for future years. Please make sure you note "Grad Gift" with your offering. Thank you!

We are looking for a new church treasurer! The treasurer works closely with our bookkeeper (Donna Michalski) to manage the financial operations of the church. We are seeking someone to assume this position by July 1, 2025. According to NMCC bylaws the “Treasurer oversees and coordinates church financial operations, establishes accounts, signs checks, creates journal entries, responds to financial, benefit or insurance inquiries from outsiders, reports to the [Church Council], and prepares financial statements for the congregation.” This position is essential to the well-being of the church. It is a wonderful opportunity for the right person to share a very specific set of gifts with NMCC. Could that be you? For more information about what the treasurer position entails, speak to Calvin Price or Scott Chasse. Cal will orient the new treasurer.
Book Discussion Group: Our next book is "The Book of Longings" by Sue Monk Kidd. We plan to meet Tuesday, June 24 at 4:30. Contact: Peter Meier
Pride Month Door Project: Do you have any old doors stored in your garage or shed? The size, style or age doesn't matter. If so, bring them in for a fun all age project for Pride Month (June). If you need someone to pick the door up let us know. Lyn Boling and Barb Black
Prison Ministry Backpack Drive: On Monday, May12, NMCC Prison Ministry delivered backpacks to be given to men released and who connect with the Project MORE Reentry Welcome Center in New Haven. Lyndia, Calvin and I represented NMCC and Claudia Buzzi, the organizer of the 2 churches , representing Guilford Congregational church, met at Project MORE.
Nichelle Hilton, Director of Reentry Welcome Center stated, our contributions and backpacks really make a difference. Men are in higher need and sometimes they come again to ask for another backpack. Nichelle Hilton was touched when I mentioned we pray on the backpacks before we deliver them. An extra blessing, she said! NMCC contributed to men released, which was our contribution, but please know they also give out duffel bags to women. Nora Price
