Drum Circle
2nd & 4th Friday
6:00 - 7:30 pm
This is our regular, informal circle led by Eric Williams. A beginner-friendly group, we welcome players of all levels interested in getting the hang of the instrument and having some fun with other drummers. We hope this fledgling circle will grow into a regular community gathering.
There is no cost for participation. Bring your own drum. There may be a few extras available. We will be outside on the hill beside the office ramp or in the Sanctuary as weather permits.

Coming in the Spring
The Drum Circle is doing a thing and invites your support! We are super excited to welcome Crocodile River Music back this spring! Crocodile River is a Worcester-based nonprofit whose mission is to connect audiences with African artists and cultures through performance and education. Their team presents a wide array of high-energy, interactive activities including African drum and dance workshops, school assembly concerts, and main stage community performances that connect and inspire audiences of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Founded in 2011 by (pastor Heather’s college pal) Executive Director Zach Combs and Artistic Director Issa Coulibaly, Crocodile River Music has served over 310,000 people through the arts of Africa.
We had a wonderful time learning and drumming with them last year, and this year we are taking a leap of faith that we can sell out a performance and an all-ages drumming workshop this spring. To make this event successful, we need your help! Who do you know that would love to come and learn, bring their people, class, or club? Who do you know that would love to support bringing this wonderful relationship and opportunity to North Madison—through sponsorship or help advertising and promoting? In June, Issa Coulibaly, Co-Founder & Artistic Director of Crocodile River Music joined us at our next Drum Circle. Issa is a respected Malian percussionist, vocalist, and cultural ambassador with over two decades of experience sharing the rhythms and stories of West Africa with global audiences.
