Christmas can be a painful time. Facing the holiday and the gathering winter darkness without a loved one or in the midst of broken relationship, illness, unemployment, loneliness, or anxiety and grief about the state of the world can be especially difficult in the midst of messages of joy, togetherness, and celebration. This quiet candlelit gathering offers a gentle experience in which to acknowledge sadness and concern, to seek some sacred quiet in the midst of the holiday hubbub, and to affirm God’s presence. We share poetry, prayer, music and presence as we light candles and remind one another that Light shines in the darkness, and we are not alone. Sanctuary, Facebook live. ​
