Musings from Linda 7/29/22

“I know I am not living my life exactly the way I REALLY want to live it… But FIRST I need to…“ (you fill in the blank)

How many times have you said something similar to yourself? We WANT — maybe even INTEND to make a change — to start anew — but too often it just doesn’t seem to happen… WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR???

A real truth is: LIFE IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL Carl Jung once said “You are what you DO, not what you say you do“ — (or are GOING to do!) Have you sometimes found yourself getting stuck in making lists of what you think you might try/ do/ be “someday” — while the actual days pass by — never to return again?

“Death is not the biggest fear we have; our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive and express what we really are…” stated Don Miguel Ruiz.

NOW! TODAY!

ASK yourself... What ONE thing can I actually DO this day to move myself closer to that “expression?” Composer Don Besig puts it this way on his anthem FLYING FREE… “ …. life is not a distant sky, without a cloud, without rain — And I can never hope that I can travel on without pain. Time goes swiftly on its way, all too soon we’ve lost today… Life’s a song that I must sing — a gift of love I must share…”

Click here to listen to a lovely rendition of this song and read the full text … and THEN — come to worship August 7 to hear Tom and Eileen sing it for us! Poet Mary Oliver asks the ultimate question: “Tell me — what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
